Nancy White -- Founder, Full Circle Associates (http://www.fullcirc.com)
I am a “Jill of all trades,” using my facilitation, communications marketing, and leadership abilities for over 25 years in a wide range of settings: broadcast media, not-for-profit and business communities. I started Full Circle Associates, a collaboration and communications consultancy, to provide assistance to non-profits and businesses and help them connect through online and offline strategies. I have a particular interest in the application of online interaction tools and techniques to virtual teams, communities of practice, in international community development, and with all types of learning communities. Lately I’ve added graphic facilitation and other visual approaches to my toolkit.
I work hard to practice leadership and share knowledge in the emerging field of online group facilitation and interaction. I want to understand “what works and why.” I have innovated new online and blended interaction formats for groups and consider myself an addicted life-long learner, using my work as a learning lab for online facilitator and coaching for distributed communities of practice, online training and education, distributed teams and online communities.
I’m an active presenter, chronicler and was one of the first to document and collect online facilitation resources (http://www.fullcirc.com/community/communitymanual.htm. I have taught the original online workshop, Facilitating Online Interaction, since 1999 (http://www.fullcirc.com/wp/about/trainings-and-workshops/) and host the "Online Facilitation" email list. I blog (http://www.fullcirc.com/) and maintain a large collection of “how to" resources on online communication at http://www.fullcirc.com/wp/resources/. I have written a number of book chapters and am just finishing a my first book co-authored with Etienne Wenger and John Smith. I present often at conferences, online gatherings and meetings about the integration of online communications tools and techniques into overall communications strategies, particularly for non-profit and social change organizations.
On the personal side, I graduated from Duke University and am a confirmed chocoholic. I love to travel, try new things and eat good food. I am proud to learn daily from my two nearly grown sons and husband in Seattle, Washington.
